Analysis of Possible Physical Factors That Accelerate Downdrafts in Storm Clouds over Cuba

One of the manifestations severe local storms is strong linear winds, which are known as a downburst and capable causing great losses to country’s economy society. Knowing factors in atmosphere necessary for occurrence this phenomenon essential its better understanding prediction. The objective study was analyze possible physical that accelerate downdrafts storm clouds Cuba. To do so, 10 cases simulated with weather research forecasting (WRF) model at 3 km spatial resolution were used. discriminating between downbursts thunderstorms without severity obtained. These absorption latent heat by evaporation fusion, equivalent potential temperature difference level maximum relative humidity low levels minimum middle levels, speed downdraft, downdraft available convective energy (DCAPE). Unlike previous research, they discriminated against updraft buoyancy advection, both troposphere.
